BGSD Strategies is a boutique management consulting and executive coaching firm that specializes in launch, growth, and turnaround strategies for mission-driven small businesses.

Michelle Coyle


Michelle is an expert in scaling small businesses and is passionate about helping entrepreneurs thrive. With 17 years of experience as an entrepreneur, management consultant, and angel investor under her belt, she knows what it takes to launch and grow your business FAST. Michelle earned her MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth in 2009.

Wes Melville

Vice President, Client Success

Wes has 15 years' experience in strategy consulting and brand marketing, supporting clients across industries spanning the federal government, private sector, startup, and nonprofit worlds. He is passionate about helping progressive political startups and mission-minded small businesses solve problems and launch successful and sustainable business models. Wes received his MBA from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina.

Arika Clark Alejo

Head Mindset Coach

Arika's passion is helping small business owners up-level their professional and personal lives. With 20 year as an entrepreneur under her belt, Arika has personal experience with all of the mindset issues that come up in the difficult process of growing a business. She holds a Master’s Degree in Adult Education, an Associate Credentialed Coach designation with the International Coach Federation, and is a certified Emotional Intelligence practitioner. She also serves as an adjunct instructor at Moraine Valley Community College and is the current President of the International Coaching Federation, Chicago Chapter. 

Moe Poole

Client Success Coach

Moe Poole specializes in transformational mindset shifts. Utilizing her background in psychology, child development and applied behavioral analysis, “Coach Moe” (as she is affectionately known) fuses science and intuition to help small business owners show up more powerfully for themselves and their dreams. With over 15 years working in the fields of psychological and behavioral therapy, Moe has the experience to identify the mindset patterns that can be so stifling to an entrepreneur. Moe has a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and Child Development from Argosy University, a Masters of Science Degree in Psychology and Applied Behavioral Analysis from Purdue University and is a Certified Life Coach through the International Coaching Federation.

Alex Mullineaux

Alex is our resident healthcare industry expert, having 10 years of executive experience helming multiple multi-billion dollar hospital organizations. In 2011 he earned an MBA from the Smith School at University of Maryland. Prior to entering the healthcare sector, he worked on Democratic political campaigns around the country.

Andrea Eaton

Client Success Coach

Andrea uses her 10+ years of experience in management, corporate development, and business consulting to help clients achieve their goals efficiently and effectively. She received her MBA with Distinction from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth.

Roberto Musso

Marketing Manager

Roberto leads our initiatives for digital marketing, social media, website design, and multimedia production. He obtained his B.A. in Public Relations from Virginia Tech in 2019, with an emphasis on sociology, politics, philosophy, and economics. After working on numerous political and marketing campaigns, Roberto feels right at home in his role at BGSD.

Julia van Hemert

Operations Manager

Julia’s original career path was veterinary medicine, a field she worked in for almost a decade. After that she became a stay-at-home mom to a family which now includes 7 children. Those years of experience keeping both unruly creatures and unruly children in line, handling the schedules first of a veterinary business and then a 10 person household, have given her superior management skills. Today, Julia finds that keeping things running smoothly at BGSD is a piece of cake in comparison.
